New Orleans, La. - Grand Valley State placed seven runners on the 2007 All-Region team following the Lakers' seventh consecutive Great Lakes Regional championship. Head coach Jerry Baltes also earned the regional Coach of the Year award. GVSU will take to the track next on Nov. 17 when they compete at the NCAA National Championship in Joplin, Mo.

The top 15 runners at the regional meet qualify for the All-Region team. Kelly Gibbons had the top time for GVSU, finishing sixth at the event. Joining her on the team from the top 10 are Susie Rivard (7th), Megan Maceratini (8th), Lori Burgess (9th) and Leah Borns (10th).

Lynsey Ardingo and Rebecca Winchester also earned all-region honors by finishing 12th and 13th, respectively.

Baltes utilized strong group running to earn the coach of the year award. The third-ranked Lakers won it's seventh consecutive regional title by claiming places six through 10.
