The Lakers women's tennis team found the win column against Lewis with an 8-1 victory on Sunday. GVSU improves to 21-5 on the season, and have won five matches in a row. Grand Valley gets a break, as they will not play until March 29, when it travels to Albion for a dual match.

The Lakers were able to pick up three wins by default in Sunday's match. In addition, Chelsea Johnston picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win in the No. 3 singles slot, while Katelyn Grashorn won 6-2, 6-1 in No. 4 singles. Darylann Trout made easy work of her opponent, with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout. Jackie Shipman won by default, and Jenna Killips won by retirement. Audrey Koopsen was the lone Laker to fall, losing 5-7, 7-5, 10-6 in the No. 2 singles slot.

Doubles play was decided quickly as Killips and Emily Zellner teamed up for an 8-1 victory. Koopsen and Jaime Oppenlander accomplished the same feat in No. 2 doubles, winning 8-1. Johnston and Trout were credited with the final default victory.

Grand Valley State Women's Tennis
