Grand Valley State is leading the Findlay William Bing Beall Fall Classic after shooting a 298 in the first round in Findlay, Ohio. The Lakers lead the 11 team tournament by seven strokes over second place California University PA. The tournament will conclude with the final round on Monday, Oct. 1.
Sophomore Ashley Smith leads the Lakers and is in second place overall as she posted a one under par 71. Sophomore Caitlin Bennett is tied for fourth place with a score of 74. Freshman Kristina Langton is right behind her with a 75, which puts her in seventh place. Sophomore Caitlin Duval shot a 78 in the first round, tying her for 13th place and senior Tracey Puckering is tied for 23rd place as she recorded an 81.
Freshman Allie Tyler is playing in the tournament as an individual and is tied for fourth place overall with a 74.
The tournament will conclude on Monday with another 18 hole round.
