Allendale, Mich. - Ashley Smith helped Grand Valley State University hold onto first place in day two of the NCAA Great Lakes Regional by shooting a day-best 74. The Lakers, who held a five-stroke lead heading into the second day, are still one stroke ahead of Ferris State, who shot a 305 on the day. GVSU has a total score of 621 and will tee off tomorrow at 9 a.m.

Smith's 74 on day two, combined with her 78 on day one, put her in a tie for the lead heading into the last day, which means she will tee off in the final group.
