Dang, Tamashiro Earn First Team All-GLIAC Honors

Bay City, Mich. - Grand Valley State University placed five members of its men's tennis team on All-GLIAC teams, the conference announced on Monday. Tony Dang and Renato Tamashiro both earned First Team All-GLIAC honors following GVSU's second-place finish in the conference tournament. Three other Lakers earned either second team or honorable mention plaudits.

Dang finished the season with a record of 17-8 overall in singles play, while Tamashiro was 16-14. In GLIAC play, Dang was 5-2 while Tamashiro was 4-3. Patrick Troy was the lone Laker on the All-GLIAC Second Team, while both Philipp Claus and Alex Switzer earned Honorable Mention in the GLIAC.

Troy finished the season at 19-11 overall and 4-3 in the conference. Switzer ended up at 18-7 in singles play with a 5-1 conference mark. Claus made an impact his first year at GVSU, finishing at 20-2 with a 6-1 record in GLIAC play.
