Grand Valley State finished in fourth place at the 2007 GLIAC Championships at the Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio. The Lakers tallied a three round score of 883, just four strokes behind Findlay, who won the tournament with an 879. Ferris State and Ashland tied for second place with an 880. Grand Valley was the defending GLIAC Champions as they won the invite last year by 10 strokes over Gannon.
The Lakers were in sixth place after recording a 594 in the first two rounds on Monday. GVSU trailed the leader, Ashland, by 14 strokes after the first day. Grand Valley came back and fired a 289 in the final round on Tuesday to finish in fourth place.
Matt Malloure claimed the individual title as he shot a one over par, 217 in the three round tournament. Malloure recorded a three over par 75 in the first round, a two under par 70 in the second round, and finished with an even par 72 in the third round. Malloure marks the second straight Laker to claim the GLIAC individual title as senior Steve Larson won it a year ago.
Senior Josh Orler tied for second place overall, firing a two over par, 218. He shot a two over par 74 in the first two rounds and concluded the tournament with a two under par 70 on Tuesday. Sophomore Josh Burt recorded a three round score of 223 to tie for 12th place. Burt had a 75 and 76 on the first day and posted an even par 72 in the final round. Junior Tyler Hering shot a 225 to tie him for 17th place. He recorded a 78, 72, and 75 in the tournament. Senior Mark Pawlowski shot a 242 as he posted scores of 80, 79, and 83.
