Findlay, Ohio - Grand Valley State University shot a 300 on day three, finishing second overall at the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional and earning a berth in the NCAA National Championships in Houston, Tx. The Lakers' three-day total of 887 was two strokes behind first-place Indianapolis and two ahead of Ferris State. Mike Basinski shot a 221 to finish in a tie for sixth place and lead GVSU. This will be GVSU's first appearance at the national championships since 2000.

Basinski shot a 75 on the third day to finish at 221, five over par for the week. Matt Malloure shot a team-best 74 on the third day, finishing at 11 over 227, which tied him for 23rd overall. Josh Burt hit a 76 on the third day to finish at 224 and Josh Orler hit a third-day 75 to finish at 225. They finished 13th and 14th, respectively, in the standings. Tyler Hering was the final Laker, hitting an 83 on the third day to finish at 230, placing him in a tie for 28th place.

The men's Central and Great Lakes Regionals were both played at Red Hawk Run golf course in Findlay, Ohio over from May 5-7. The top teams from each regional, Washburn and Indianapolis, both earned spots at the national meet. The third place team overall, drawn from both regionals, was also awarded a spot at nationals. GVSU shot 23-over, beating out Central Missouri State, who finished second in the Central Regional at +33.
