Noblesville, Ind. - Josh Orler shot a first-round 67 (-5), while Tyler Hering carded a 68 (-4) to lead Grand Valley State into first-place after 18 holes at the Great Lakes Regional #3. GVSU shot a team score of 282, eight shots ahead of Wayne State (290) and 11 in front of Findlay (293). The second and final round will be played Monday (April 21).

Orler, who is in first place heading into the second round, opened with a 32 on the front nine, followed by a 35 on the back nine. Orler tallied six birdies on the day. Hering, who is tied for second, also opened with a 32 on the front nine and was one of seven golfers to record and eagle. Josh Burt is tied for 16th after shooting a 73 (+1), while Mike Basinski is tied for 23rd after recording a 74 (+2).
