         <description><![CDATA[Grand Valley State University shot a 300 on day three, finishing second overall at the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional and earning a berth in the NCAA National Championships in Houston, Tx. The Lakers' three-day total of 887 was two strokes behind first-place Indianapolis and two ahead of Ferris State. Mike Basinski shot a 221 to finish in a tie for sixth place and lead GVSU. This will be GVSU's first appearance at the national championships since 2000.]]></description>

The Lakers were 12 shots clear of second place Wayne State (590) and 14 shots ahead of Indianapolis' 36-hole total of 592 (+16). The Great Lakes Regional #3 was played at The Purgatory Golf Course in Noblesville, Ind.
