Grand Valley State claimed its fourth national championship in five years...Extended its winning streak to 28 straight games, the longest active streak in any NCAA division...90-10 in its last 100 games with four national championships...The 2006 senior class finished an NCAA-best 52-4...The Lakers are 21-2 in their last 23 playoff games...Held seven of their last 13 opponents to 14 points or less...The Lakers are 49-2 when being ranked number one, since 2002...GVSU is 63-0 when scoring first, since 2000...Second team in NCAA history to go 15-0, the first was NW Missouri State in 1998.

Is 38-3 all-time as the Lakers head coach and 10-1 in the playoffs with back-to-back national championships.

Senior QB Cullen Finnerty
Finnerty finishes 14-1 in the NCAA playoffs and 51-4 overall...His 51 wins as a starting quarterback is the most in NCAA history...Finnerty finishes his career as one of only two players to throw for more than 10,000 yards and rush for 2,000 yards (10,905 passing/2,383 rushing)...Finnerty ranks third all-time in the NCAA in total offense (13,288)...Holds an all-division record with 46 touchdown passes in his career...First 100-yard rushing game of the season and first since 2003 against Texas A&M-Kingsville...The 100-yard rushing game was the first player to rush for more than 100 yards against the Bearcats in 19 games...Ended his playoff career with 3,009 passing yards and 3,784 yards of total offense...Accounted for 35 touchdowns in the playoffs...Finishes tenth in school history in rushing yards (2,383)...Went over 3,000 yards passing on the season (3,220 yards), the first time since Curt Anes in 2002 (3,692 yards)...Threw for 110 TDs and ran for 31 TDs in his career...Third player in Division II history to quarterback three national championship teams. The others are Jeff Bentrim of North Dakota State (1983, 1985, 1986) and Cody Gross of North Alabama (1993, 1994, 1995).

Senior RB Astin Martin
Finished his career undefeated as a Laker winning 28 straight games...Finished his career with 2,469 rushing yards at Grand Valley ranking eighth in school history...1,116 yards on the season, the first-ever back-to-back 1,000 yard rusher in Laker history.

Senior WR Eric Fowler
Finishes the season with a school record 1,694...Caught a touchdown in 14-of-15 games on the year, including the last 11 games.

Junior CB Bill Brechin
