Joplin, MO - Grand Valley State put the finishing touches its 2008 spring trip with a 7-4 victory over Wisconsin-Parkside Sunday morning in Joplin, Missouri. GVSU is now 11-1 on the year heading into a series with Upper Iowa.

The Lakers struck in the top of the first inning once again with a single run to take an early 1-0 lead. However, Wisconsin-Parkside answered with three runs in the bottom of the first to take a 3-1 lead. GVSU came back with four runs in the top of the third and single runs in the fifth and seventh innings to tak a 7-3 lead. The Rangers scored in the bottom of the eighth for the final margin of 7-4.

Sophomore Brad Raj improved to 2-0 on the year, yielding three runs on six hits with five strikeouts in six innings. David Bowman earned the save with a scoreless ninth.

SS Justin Beal was 3-4 with two RBI, while LF Casey Robrahn collected two hits and scored two runs and drove in one. 1B Cory Maguire drove in a pair with a single and RF Derek Hinke hit a solo HR.
